Art Stories by Turanza: Zeitz MOCOAA

I was introduced to African art at the Harriet Tubman Museum in the town where I grew up. I volunteered there while I was a college sophomore at Mercer. This is where the seed was planted to know and understand more about my culture through the arts. I have decided to create my own #artstoriesbyturanza .

Last September, my family and I visited Cape Town, SA. We captured some amazing views during our seven day stay. Before meeting South Africa, the closest I could connect to the land was through the amazing art and other cultural works. One of my favorite highlights was visiting Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art of Africa in the Silo District. Here’s to the blessings and opportunities to connect to the culture throughout the year.
